"The main enemy of the open society, I believe, is no longer the communist but the capitalist threat." - George Soros
There is something about enormous wealth coupled to a gullible, idealistic and obsessive mind that makes for a very dangerous creature indeed.
Case in point: George Soros.
He is a powerful man in America today but is also the most secretive. Most people don't know he exists. Crooks always work in the middle of the night.
"Soros may be the biggest political fat cat of all time. Convicted in France of insider trading, Soros
specializes in weakening or collapsing the currencies of entire nations for his own selfish interests. He is known as the man who broke the Bank of England. His power is such that his statements alone can cause currencies to go up or down. Other people suffer so he can get rich...
The media consistently ignore the fact that this so-called "philanthropist" has had several brushes with the law as he has laid siege to national economies and currencies. Hard-working U.S. businessmen understand how Soros has made his money. In protesting a Soros appearance hosted by the University of Toledo, Edwin J. Nagle III, president and CEO of the Nagle Companies, highlighted "the immoral and unethical means by which he achieved his wealth." He added, "I certainly didn't see included in his bio the stories on how he collapsed whole country's currencies for his own self interests so that many may suffer." - Cliff Kindkaid, 2004
I contend it is solely because of his wealth and his egomaniacally obsession to use and manipulate others to damage the United States in particular, and transform the world in general, that he has any position on the world stage. He is no wise man. He has attached himself to Karl Popper, the 20th century. philosopher and his notions of an "open society", which are no less idealistic than his perception of and criticism against Plato's idealism (Poppers understanding of Plato is a joke). Anyway, like a good thief, Soros hides behind this philosophical fluff, using it to justify his hundreds of left-wing organizations such as moveon.org, Democracy Alliance and Daily Kos.
When trying to navigate through the myriad foundations and organizations supported by Soros, it's quite easy to get lost. At present, the keyword which all of them have in common is open society. Accessing the Soros homepage on the web, you immediately come across the conceptual framework by which Soros operates his open society activities: "The concept of [the] open society is based on the recognition that people act on imperfect knowledge and nobody is in possession of the ultimate truth." (see also George Soros The Open Society Reconsidered ) Sounds quite impressive. What is equally impressive are all the reports from the different parts of the world about what the various Soros foundations are doing. They all contain the same components, though worded differently and presented according to the political environment they operate in. The bulk of Soros' activities are centered around education, libraries, publishing, and media. Various scholarships are offered to students in order to give them, in theory, access to resources. " John Horvath, The Soros Network
George, in order to finally achieve is Popperian utopia began his Open Society Fund in 1929:
"So I called the foundation the Open Society Fund, and I defined its objectives as opening up closed societies, making open societies more viable, and promoting a critical mode of thinking. "
He starts with a completely idiotic bifurcation of possible societies in the world: some are open and some are closed:
"because in a closed society there is only one blueprint, which is imposed on society, whereas in an open society each citizen is not only allowed but required to think for himself"
Something to appeal to the hippies, no less. In any case, what in the world does that mean? What does "thinking for oneself" mean here? Does it mean individuals in an open society make their own laws? Is this laissez-faire socialism? Anarchy? Really, one cannot possibly know. It is simply what Soros wants to be at any given time. Well then again one thing is true: Soros' open society is simply the negation of all societies: it wants to tear down Michael Savage's proverbial "borders, language and culture". Soros describes this himself, and as usual his speech rings as hollow as a cheap chocolate Easter Egg that no one will eat:
"Societies derive their cohesion from shared values. These values are rooted in culture, religion, history, and tradition. When a society does not have boundaries, where are the shared values to be found? I believe there is only one possible source: the concept of the open society itself." - Soros
Absolutely meaningless in every practical sense.
After Soros concludes that the problem of communism in the world has decreased, he became bored, so he invents a new enemy, namely free-market capitalism. No wait. First it was Bush, then free-market capitalism:
George Soros, one of the world's wealthiest financiers and philanthropists, has declared that getting George Bush out of the White House has become the "central focus" of his life, and he has put more than $15m (£9m) of his own money where his mouth is.
Mr Soros argues that the Bush White House is guided by a "supremacist ideology" that is leading it to abuse US power in its dealings with the rest of the world, and creating a state of permanent warfare. - Julian Borger
You see, people like Soros require there to be an enemy. It is the only way they feel they can define themselves, in terms of something to fight against. They are never for anything, which is why these weeds can only grow in climates of political discontent. And if there is no discontent, they will convince people that they are discontented (Obama's race card). This is why the "open society" concept is so appealing to him. Fundamentally, the notion of an open society, is an idea, nothing more and nothing less. In fact, it is very similar to Barack Obama's notion of hope and all of his promises he has made to his supporters. Barack too, believes that all people should have an equal say in the open society, which is why he has promised to include ACORN in the planning of his administration. Just check out the beginning of this video of Obama speaking to ACORN here:
Okay, and here comes Soros' take on the Obamanian concept of "Change". Soros uses the phrase "Open to improvement". This is Sorospeak for "open to doing what Soros wants". It can also mean that "living Constitution" that you always hear about from the left. Read this excerpt below. If you are fluent in bullshit, you will grasp how he says absolutely nothing, but invisions some kind of twisted society in an alternate realm where people "debate" each other about their values and regard what they believe in as matters of debate and choice (I wonder if he includes homosexuality as a matter of choice? - NOT).
I envisage the open society as a society open to improvement. We start with the recognition of our own fallibility, which extends not only to our mental constructs but also to our institutions. What is imperfect can be improved, by a process of trial and error. The open society not only allows this process but actually encourages it, by insisting on freedom of expression and protecting dissent. The open society offers a vista of limitless progress. In this respect it has an affinity with the scientific method. But science has at its disposal objective criteria -- namely the facts by which the process may be judged. Unfortunately, in human affairs the facts do not provide reliable criteria of truth, yet we need some generally agreed-upon standards by which the process of trial and error can be judged. All cultures and religions offer such standards; the open society cannot do without them. The innovation in an open society is that whereas most cultures and religions regard their own values as absolute, an open society, which is aware of many cultures and religions, must regard its own shared values as a matter of debate and choice. To make the debate possible, there must be general agreement on at least one point: that the open society is a desirable form of social organization. People must be free to think and act, subject only to limits imposed by the common interests. Where the limits are must also be determined by trial and error.
So this is the man who apparently gave financial support to Obama, jump starting him on his non stop trip to the White House:
In late 2006, George Soros, the British empire/Wall Street gatekeeper of the Left, vetted Senator Barack Obama's potential Presidential candidacy on behalf of financier oligarchs. Soros then introduced Obama to a selected financier group, and Obama soon afterwards announced he would seek the White House.
Soros's involvement with Obama's brief national political career had begun two years earlier with Soros fundraising for Obama's campaign for U.S. senate, and continued through the 2007 Presidential campaign launch with huge fundraising operations by Soros and his circle. - Lyndon Larouche PAC
I can't help but wonder about this relationship between Obama and Soros. If the relationship is there, would it be just outright crazy to say that we may be voting Soros into the Oval Office?
